In 2017 election of Modi Rural Municipality (Parbat district), candidate Prem Sharma Paudel of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,643 (54.29%) votes out of total votes of 10,395 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bishwo Prakash Prasai Thakuri of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,819 (23.81%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 933 (4.49) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Seti Mahat of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 5,396 (52.56%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Mina Kumari K.c of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,834 (24.48%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,037 (5.05) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 141 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 83 (58.87%) males and 58 (41.13%) females. Moreover, there were total 31 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 8 wards. Same as, total 51 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 26 females and 22 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
