Mangala is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Myagdi district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Mangala has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 89 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Mangala Rural Municipality had total population of 16,286.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Mangala Rural Municipality had total 16,286 population with 7,114 males and 9,172 females. Out of total wards, ward number 5 had the largest population 4,189, while ward number 4 had least number of population with 4,189.
With respect to number of households, Mangala Rural Municipality had total 3,825 households. The ward number 5 had most households with total 948, while ward number 4 had least number of households with total 406 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.78, which indicates that Mangala Rural Municipality had 22 percent lower males as compared to the females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 10,260 people fully literate in Mangala Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 415 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 5,004 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Mangala Rural Municipality, total 2,441 males and 2,563 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,450 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 494 male and 956 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.95 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.52.The CBS census also states that 47 males and 83 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 4,344 in Mangala Rural Municipality with 2,108 (48.53%) of males and 2,236 (51.47%) females. There were total 47 schools. In average, 92 students were studying in each school.

Mostly spoken language in Mangala is Nepali, which is spoken by 16,077 people. The Mangala has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Newar, Chhantyal, etc.

There were as little as Limbu caste with population of as little as 14 in total. People of several other castes who live in Mangala are Kami, Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Sarki, Damai/Dholi, Chhantyal/Chhantel, Kisan, Thakali, Thakuri, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Newar, Gurung, Tamang, Badi, Majhi, Limbu, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 3825 households in Mangala Rural Municipality, there were 3,728 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 23 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 34 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 30houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,697 houses were mud bonded, 64 houses were cement bonded, 41 houses were wood planks bonded, 12 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 472 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 189 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,120 houses had roof of tile, 32 houses had RCC roofs, 1 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

Same as, total 1,560 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 665, while 1,243 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.41.

out of 3,825 households in Mangala Rural Municipality, 657 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,083 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,617, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 2,439.
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 615 establishments in Mangala Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,559 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 744 and female engagement of 815 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.53 people engaged with average males are 1.21 and females are 1.33. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 0.91, which means as many as 0.91 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 47.72 percent while the females are 52.28 percent.
