In 2017 election of Lungri Rural Municipality (Rolpa district), candidate Durga Bahadur Khadka of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,125 (39.32%) votes out of total votes of 7,947 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tularam Khadka of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 2,910 (26.28%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,912 (12.03) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Bhimkala Budhathoki Chhetri of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,277 (41.31%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Mankhana Gharti of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,939 (26.22%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,717 (10.82) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 153 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 96 (62.75%) males and 57 (37.25%) females. Moreover, there were total 31 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 60 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 29 females and 23 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
