In 2017 election of Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality (Sindhupalchok district), candidate Kamal Prasad Nepal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,761 (33.16%) votes out of total votes of 8,327 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Raju Lama (tamang) of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 2,531 (22.83%) of votes. The rest of 5 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,035 (18.22) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Hem Ganga Moktan of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,852 (35.16%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Phulam Lama of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,417 (22.05%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,842 (17.52) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 160 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 102 (63.75%) males and 58 (36.25%) females. Moreover, there were total 33 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 62 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 29 females and 22 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
