In 2017 election of Likhu Rural Municipality (Nuwakot district), candidate Dhruba Shrestha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,425 (32.86%) votes out of total votes of 7,380 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Pradip Prasad Pathak of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,862 (18.99%) of votes. The rest of 7 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,093 (20.96) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Rojina Rai of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,000 (29.39%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Shubhadra Adhikari (upreti) of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,869 (21.23%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,936 (21.57) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 160 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 100 (62.50%) males and 60 (37.50%) females. Moreover, there were total 36 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 56 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 27 females and 25 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
