In 2017 election of Likhu Pike Rural Municipality (Solukhumbu district), candidate Dambar Bahadur Basnet of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,136 (45.22%) votes out of total votes of 2,512 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Ram Bahadur Basnet of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 760 (20.83%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 616 (12.26) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Pramila Basnet/ Karki of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,042 (42.12%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Mina Devi Karki of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 828 (23.55%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 604 (12.21) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 111 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 68 (61.26%) males and 43 (38.74%) females. Moreover, there were total 27 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 39 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 20 females and 15 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
