Lekbeshi is a Municipality, which is located in Surkhet district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Lekbeshi has total 10 wards, which are scattered across 181 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Lekbeshi Municipality had total population of 30,295.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Lekbeshi Municipality had total 30,295 population with 14,122 males and 16,173 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 3,889, while ward number 2 had least number of population with 3,889.
With respect to number of households, Lekbeshi Municipality had total 6,346 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 880, while ward number 2 had least number of households with total 421 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.87, which indicates that Lekbeshi Municipality had 13 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 4.77, which means that in average 4.77 family members lived in each household.

In terms of age, the largest population in Lekbeshi Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 4,021. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 5 and 9 with total 2,019 while female population falls between 10 and 14 with total 2,017 population. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 384 population, which consistes of 201 males and 183 females. There were 57.73 % (17,488 ) of independent population, the working age people between ages of 15 and 64 years. The dependent children, ages below 15 years, were 37.85 % with total number of 11,467. The dependent elderly population, aged 65 and above were 4.42 % with total number of 1,340. As such, total dependent population including children and elderly people were 42.27 with total number of 12,807
There were 8,438 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 3,430. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 20,439 people fully literate in Lekbeshi Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 609 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 9,528 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Lekbeshi Municipality, total 4,706 males and 4,822 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 3,922 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,563 male and 2,359 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.98 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.66.The CBS census also states that 66 males and 95 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 12,626 in Lekbeshi Municipality with 6,292 (49.83%) of males and 6,334 (50.17%) females. There were total 47 schools. In average, 269 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Lekbeshi is Nepali, which is spoken by 24,425 people. The Lekbeshi has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Chhantyal, Gurung, Raji, Tamang, Tharu, etc.

There were as little as Tamang caste with population of as little as 21 in total. People of several other castes who live in Lekbeshi are Chhetri, Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Sarki, Gurung, Badi, Chhantyal/Chhantel, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Majhi, Thami, Dalit Others, Newar, Raji, Gaine, Terai Others, Tharu, Tamang, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 6346 households in Lekbeshi Municipality, there were 4,314 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 128 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 42 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 1,796houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 4,194 houses were mud bonded, 413 houses were cement bonded, 1,637 houses were wood planks bonded, 29 houses were bamboo bonded and 13 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 3,326 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 653 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 2,013 houses had roof of tile, 251 houses had RCC roofs, 15 houses had roof of woods while 2 houses were reported having roof of mud. With reference to source of fuel, 6,188 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 9 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 24 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (7), bio-gas (63), fuel electricity (2), etc.
Same as, total 3,564 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 378, while 413 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.56.

out of 6,346 households in Lekbeshi Municipality, 1,188 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,955 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 645 establishments in Lekbeshi Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,581 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 855 and female engagement of 726 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.45 people engaged with average males are 1.33 and females are 1.13. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.18, which means as many as 1.18 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 54.08 percent while the females are 45.92 percent.
