In 2017 election of Kispang Rural Municipality (Nuwakot district), candidate Chatra Bahadur Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,568 (41.96%) votes out of total votes of 6,120 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Birbal Tamang of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,665 (19.16%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,887 (15.42) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Maya Devi Neupane of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,394 (40.25%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Menchung Lama of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,804 (21.63%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,750 (14.71) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 113 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 68 (60.18%) males and 45 (39.82%) females. Moreover, there were total 23 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 43 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 20 females and 16 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
