In 2017 election of K. I. Singh Rural Municipality (Doti district), candidate Lokendra Bahadur Shahi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,188 (46.71%) votes out of total votes of 6,825 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Yagya Raj Joshi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,563 (15.61%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,074 (15.19) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Mina Devi Bista of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,175 (46.23%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Laxmi Devi Joshi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,619 (16.12%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 2,074 (15.10) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 168 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 97 (57.74%) males and 71 (42.26%) females. Moreover, there were total 34 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 60 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 32 females and 32 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
