In 2017 election of Khaptad Chhededaha Rural Municipality (Bajura district), candidate Nar Bahadur Rawat of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,705 (50.94%) votes out of total votes of 7,273 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Lal Bahadur Oli of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 3,100 (28.24%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 468 (3.22) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Kunti Devi Saud Budha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,671 (50.61%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Pabitra Shahi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,125 (28.61%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 457 (3.15) of votes.
