The candidte of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) - Man Mohan Adhikari secured 15,692 (47.14%) votes and secured victory in the election. The runner-up candidate was Prakash Man Singh of Nepali Congress Party who secured 11,378 (34.18%) votes and came in second position.
