Kamala is a Municipality, which is located in Dhanusa district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Kamala has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 66 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Kamala Municipality had total population of 38.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Kamala Municipality had total 38,624 population with 18,731 males and 19,893 females. Out of total wards, ward number 2 had the largest population 5,242, while ward number 9 had least number of population with 5,242.
With respect to number of households, Kamala Municipality had total 6,999 households. The ward number 2 had most households with total 957, while ward number 9 had least number of households with total 566 number of households.

In terms of age, the largest population in Kamala Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 5,631. Gender wise, there were 2,860 males and 2,771 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was above 75 with total 491 population, which consistes of 260 males and 231 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 13,562 people fully literate in Kamala Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 990 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 8,123 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Kamala Municipality, total 4,586 males and 3,537 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 8,304 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 3,646 male and 4,658 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.30 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.78.The CBS census also states that 360 males and 615 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,301 in Kamala Municipality with 2,976 (47.23%) of males and 3,325 (52.77%) females. There were total 19 schools. In average, 332 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Kamala is Maithili, which is spoken by 33,871 people. The Kamala has people who speak other languages, such as Magahi, Urdu, Sunuwar, Nepali, Hindi, Limbu, etc.

There were as little as Tharu caste with population of as little as 12 in total. Top five castes of people in Kamala Municipality are Yadav (10,031), Dhanuk (4,954), Koiri/Kushwaha (2,885), Kewat (2,406) and Dusadh/Pasawan/Pasi (2,092) with total population of 22,368, which forms 58,863.16 percent out of total population of 38 in Kamala Municipality.Population by Disability
Out of total population of 38,624, there were total 388 (1.00%) disabled persons in Kamala Municipality with 216 (55.67%) males and 172 (44.33%) females. The physically disabled persons were 118, while mentally disabled people were 50 and intellectually disabled were 15.
Similarly, there were 102 people who were blind and 40 people were deaf, while 9 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 32 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 22 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 6999 households in Kamala Municipality, there were 117 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 864 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 80 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 5,780houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 92 houses were mud bonded, 880 houses were cement bonded, 309 houses were wood planks bonded, 5,548 houses were bamboo bonded and 16 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,590 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 170 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 4,531 houses had roof of tile, 500 houses had RCC roofs, 48 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

With reference to source of fuel, 1,450 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 100 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 11 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (5,294), bio-gas (9), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 2,386 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 3,840, while 631 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.34.
With reference to source of fuel, 1,450 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 100 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 11 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (5,294), bio-gas (9), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 2,386 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 3,840, while 631 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. Facilities
out of 6,999 households in Kamala Municipality, 1,581 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 5,181 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.MobilePhone was used by the maximum households with total users of 4,128, while Bicycle was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 3,778.
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 508 establishments in Kamala Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,152 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 842 and female engagement of 310 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.27 people engaged with average males are 1.66 and females are 0.61. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.72, which means as many as 2.72 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 73.09 percent while the females are 26.91 percent.
