Kalimati is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Salyan district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Kalimati has total 7 wards, which are scattered across 501 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Kalimati Rural Municipality had total population of 23,005.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Kalimati Rural Municipality had total 23,005 population with 11,300 males and 11,705 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 4,245, while ward number 6 had least number of population with 4,245.
With respect to number of households, Kalimati Rural Municipality had total 4,343 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 791, while ward number 6 had least number of households with total 469 number of households.

There were only 12,940 people fully literate in Kalimati Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 886 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 7,868 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Kalimati Rural Municipality, total 3,937 males and 3,931 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 3,021 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,327 male and 1,694 female were not attending teh school. According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 10,862 in Kalimati Rural Municipality with 5,265 (48.47%) of males and 5,597 (51.53%) females. There were total 53 schools. In average, 205 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Kalimati is Nepali, which is spoken by 22,292 people. The Kalimati has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Khamchi(Raute), etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Kalimati Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 9,378. There were as little as Tharu caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Kalimati are Magar, Kami, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Damai/Dholi, Brahmin - Hill, Sarki, Kumal, Badi, Raute, Gurung, Thakuri, Terai Others, Tharu, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Out of total 4343 households in Kalimati Rural Municipality, there were 3,951 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 8 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 6 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 287houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,964 houses were mud bonded, 31 houses were cement bonded, 257 houses were wood planks bonded, 3 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

out of 4,343 households in Kalimati Rural Municipality, 810 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 3,339 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 426 establishments in Kalimati Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,058 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 569 and female engagement of 489 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.48 people engaged with average males are 1.34 and females are 1.15. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.16, which means as many as 1.16 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 53.78 percent while the females are 46.22 percent.
