In 2017 election of Jaimuni Municipality (Baglung district), candidate Indra Raj Paudel of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 5,356 (44.82%) votes out of total votes of 11,949 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Nar Bahadur Pun of Rastriya JanaMorcha (RasJanM) who secured 5,250 (30.34%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 1,343 (5.62) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Lila Rana of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,740 (41.57%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Kaushila Devi B.k of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,648 (28.79%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 2,015 (8.84) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 179 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 107 (59.78%) males and 72 (40.22%) females. Moreover, there were total 36 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 10 wards. Same as, total 68 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 33 females and 31 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
