In 2017 election of Jahada Rural Municipality (Morang district), candidate Kailash Prasad Mandal Gangai of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 5,049 (36.35%) votes out of total votes of 13,890 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Jitendra Prasad Shah of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,659 (19.32%) of votes. The rest of 9 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 5,182 (18.65) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Shalo Shah of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 4,400 (35.12%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Anita Hansda Satar of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,578 (21.13%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 4,552 (18.16) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 220 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 141 (64.09%) males and 79 (35.91%) females. Moreover, there were total 52 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 7 wards. Same as, total 81 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 34 females and 35 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
