Gurbhakot is a Municipality, which is located in Surkhet district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Gurbhakot has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 229 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gurbhakot Municipality had total population of 43,765.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Gurbhakot Municipality had total 43,765 population with 19,882 males and 23,883 females. Out of total wards, ward number 4 had the largest population 4,126, while ward number 10 had least number of population with 4,126.
With respect to number of households, Gurbhakot Municipality had total 9,572 households. The ward number 6 had most households with total 918, while ward number 1 had least number of households with total 401 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.83, which indicates that Gurbhakot Municipality had 17 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 4.57, which means that in average 4.57 family members lived in each household.

Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 27,646 people fully literate in Gurbhakot Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 1,168 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 14,094 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Gurbhakot Municipality, total 6,965 males and 7,129 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 5,326 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,942 male and 3,384 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.98 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.57.The CBS census also states that 186 males and 306 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 8,443 in Gurbhakot Municipality with 4,224 (50.03%) of males and 4,219 (49.97%) females. There were total 80 schools. In average, 106 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Gurbhakot is Nepali, which is spoken by 41,778 people. The Gurbhakot has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Maithili, Gurung, Hindi, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gurbhakot Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 12,779. There were as little as Thakali caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Gurbhakot are Kami, Magar, Brahmin - Hill, Damai/Dholi, Thakuri, Gurung, Sarki, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Badi, Gaine, Newar, Raji, Yadav, Bote, Tharu, Muslim, Majhi, Thakali, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 9572 households in Gurbhakot Municipality, there were 8,576 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 331 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 84 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 501houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 8,418 houses were mud bonded, 757 houses were cement bonded, 269 houses were wood planks bonded, 20 houses were bamboo bonded and 30 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 3,652 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 1,093 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 4,199 houses had roof of tile, 376 houses had RCC roofs, 13 houses had roof of woods while 77 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

out of 9,572 households in Gurbhakot Municipality, 1,936 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 7,372 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,310 establishments in Gurbhakot Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 3,181 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,699 and female engagement of 1,482 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.43 people engaged with average males are 1.30 and females are 1.13. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.15, which means as many as 1.15 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 53.41 percent while the females are 46.59 percent.
