In 2017 election of Ghyanglekh Rural Municipality (Sindhuli district), candidate Jagat Bahadur Bholan of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,424 (47.41%) votes out of total votes of 5,113 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Shankar Man Ghalan of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 1,955 (25.94%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 734 (7.18) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Durga Devi Sunuwar of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,287 (44.05%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kanchi Maya Bholan of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,979 (26.46%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 926 (8.92) of votes.

Moreover, there were total 19 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards.
