Gharapjhong is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Mustang district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Gharapjhong has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 316 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gharapjhong Rural Municipality had total population of 3,029.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Gharapjhong Rural Municipality had total 3,029 population with 1,594 males and 1,435 females. Out of total wards, ward number 3 had the largest population 876, while ward number 1 had least number of population with 876.
With respect to number of households, Gharapjhong Rural Municipality had total 874 households. The ward number 4 had most households with total 280, while ward number 1 had least number of households with total 57 number of households.

In terms of age, the largest population in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality were between 20 and 24 years of age with total 279. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 25 and 29 with total 149 while female population falls between 20 and 24 with total 146 population. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 2,133 people fully literate in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 63 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 590 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality, total 284 males and 306 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 313 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 154 male and 159 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.93 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.97.The CBS census also states that 6 males and 1 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 391 in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality with 187 (47.83%) of males and 204 (52.17%) females. There were total 10 schools. In average, 39 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Gharapjhong is Nepali, which is spoken by 1,867 people. The Gharapjhong has people who speak other languages, such as Thakali, Gurung, Magar, Tamang, Sherpa, Belhare, Maithili, Newar, Rai, Bhojpuri, Tharu, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gharapjhong Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Thakali caste with total population of 990. There were as little as Thakuri caste with population of as little as 19 in total. People of several other castes who live in Gharapjhong are Kami, Gurung, Magar, Damai/Dholi, Brahmin - Hill, Tamang, Chhetri, Newar, Sherpa, Rai, Sarki, Badi, Tharu, Thakuri, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Out of total 874 households in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality, there were 805 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 64 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 0houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 695 houses were mud bonded, 167 houses were cement bonded, 4 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 296 establishments in Gharapjhong Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,354 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 877 and female engagement of 477 persons.In every business, there were an average of 4.57 people engaged with average males are 2.96 and females are 1.61. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.84, which means as many as 1.84 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 64.77 percent while the females are 35.23 percent.
