Duhun is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Darchula district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Duhun has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 65 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Duhun Rural Municipality had total population of 10,818.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Duhun Rural Municipality had total 10,818 population with 5,102 males and 5,716 females. Out of total wards, ward number 2 had the largest population 2,859, while ward number 3 had least number of population with 2,859.
With respect to number of households, Duhun Rural Municipality had total 1,982 households. The ward number 2 had most households with total 499, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 335 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.89, which indicates that Duhun Rural Municipality had 11 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Duhun Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 1,541. Gender wise, there were 768 males and 773 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 208 population, which consistes of 95 males and 113 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 6,059 people fully literate in Duhun Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 234 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 3,349 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Duhun Rural Municipality, total 1,707 males and 1,642 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,219 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 424 male and 795 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.04 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.53.The CBS census also states that 25 males and 82 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 2,537 in Duhun Rural Municipality with 1,228 (48.40%) of males and 1,309 (51.60%) females. There were total 21 schools. In average, 121 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Duhun is Doteli, which is spoken by 10,206 people. The Duhun has people who speak other languages, such as Darchuleli, Nepali, Magar, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Duhun Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 6,413. There were as little as Others caste with population of as little as 16 in total. People of several other castes who live in Duhun are Thakuri, Brahmin - Hill, Kami, Dalit Others, Lohar, Magar, Damai/Dholi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 1982 households in Duhun Rural Municipality, there were 1,926 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 24 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 7houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 1,524 houses were mud bonded, 380 houses were cement bonded, 24 houses were wood planks bonded, 5 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 111 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 44 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,529 houses had roof of tile, 41 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 6 houses were reported having roof of mud. out of 1,982 households in Duhun Rural Municipality, 655 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 1,310 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 194 establishments in Duhun Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 490 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 327 and female engagement of 163 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.53 people engaged with average males are 1.69 and females are 0.84. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.01, which means as many as 2.01 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 66.73 percent while the females are 33.27 percent.
