In 2017 election of Duduwa Rural Municipality (Banke district), candidate Narendra Kumar Chaudhary of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,691 (36.59%) votes out of total votes of 12,821 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bijaya Bahadur Yadav of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) who secured 4,192 (23.94%) of votes. The rest of 8 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,938 (15.36) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Shahida Bano of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 4,315 (34.53%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Jabida Khatun of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 4,134 (24.59%) of votes and came in second position. Other 5 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 4,049 (16.20) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 202 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 121 (59.90%) males and 81 (40.10%) females. Moreover, there were total 44 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 72 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 34 females and 35 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
