In 2017 election of Dordi Rural Municipality (Lamjung district), candidate Om Bahadur Gurung of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 3,624 (50.24%) votes out of total votes of 7,213 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bichha Bahadur Ghale of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 3,351 (30.92%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 238 (1.65) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Dil Bahadur Ghale of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 4,078 (54.88%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Nisha Lama of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,304 (28.71%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 49 (0.33) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 131 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 81 (61.83%) males and 50 (38.17%) females. Moreover, there were total 28 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 50 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 24 females and 22 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
