In 2017 election of Chure Rural Municipality (Kailali district), candidate Dhan Bahadur Roka Magar of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,561 (38.89%) votes out of total votes of 6,585 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tika Ram Dhungana Jaisi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,366 (25.87%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,658 (12.59) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Deepa Devi Sawad of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,616 (40.38%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Dhana Devi Thapa of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,376 (26.12%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,487 (11.48) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 129 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 76 (58.91%) males and 53 (41.09%) females. Moreover, there were total 27 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 44 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 24 females and 23 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
