In 2017 election of Chhipaharmai Rural Municipality (Parsa district), candidate Manoj Kumar of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,851 (30.29%) votes out of total votes of 9,411 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Indrasan Shah Kalwar of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) who secured 2,694 (21.97%) of votes. The rest of 12 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 3,866 (20.54) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Modina Khatun of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,831 (30.99%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Siskali Devi of Snghiy Samajbadi Form Nepal (SanSFN) secured 2,373 (19.83%) of votes and came in second position. Other 4 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,931 (21.52) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 167 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 109 (65.27%) males and 58 (34.73%) females. Moreover, there were total 39 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 58 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 26 females and 24 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
