Chhayanath Rara is a Municipality, which is located in Mugu district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Chhayanath Rara has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 481 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Chhayanath Rara Municipality had total population of 20,078.

As per 2011 population census, Chhayanath Rara Municipality had total 20,082 population with 10,247 males and 9,835 females. Out of total wards, ward number 13 had the largest population 2,260, while ward number 9 had least number of population with 2,260.
With respect to number of households, Chhayanath Rara Municipality had total 3,641 households. The ward number 13 had most households with total 416, while ward number 9 had least number of households with total 66 number of households.

There were only 9,095 people fully literate in Chhayanath Rara Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 821 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 5,961 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Chhayanath Rara Municipality, total 3,185 males and 2,776 females were attending the school. Out of total 3641 households in Chhayanath Rara Municipality, there were 3,541 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 25 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 26houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,463 houses were mud bonded, 93 houses were cement bonded, 30 houses were wood planks bonded, 1 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 849 establishments in Chhayanath Rara Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,725 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,372 and female engagement of 1,353 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.21 people engaged with average males are 1.62 and females are 1.59. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.01, which means as many as 1.01 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 50.35 percent while the females are 49.65 percent.
