In 2017 election of Champadevi Rural Municipality (Okhaldhunga district), candidate Navaraj K.c (khatri) of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,241 (40.40%) votes out of total votes of 8,023 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Hari Prasad Ghimire of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,841 (25.22%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,941 (12.10) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Nirmala Devi Raika of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,245 (40.57%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kalpana Thapa of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 3,011 (26.78%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,742 (10.89) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 162 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 101 (62.35%) males and 61 (37.65%) females. Moreover, there were total 36 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 10 wards. Same as, total 60 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 30 females and 28 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
