Chame is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Manang district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Chame has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 79 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Chame Rural Municipality had total population of 1,129.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Chame Rural Municipality had total 1,129 population with 597 males and 532 females. Out of total wards, ward number 3 had the largest population 427, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 427.
With respect to number of households, Chame Rural Municipality had total 279 households. The ward number 3 had most households with total 106, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 17 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 1.12, which indicates that Chame Rural Municipality had -12 percent lower males as compared to the females. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 25 and 29 with total 59 while female population falls between 15 and 19 with total 65 population. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 11 population, which consistes of 7 males and 4 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 778 people fully literate in Chame Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 4 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 233 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Chame Rural Municipality, total 116 males and 117 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 100 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 45 male and 55 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.99 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.82.The CBS census also states that 2 males and 1 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 296 in Chame Rural Municipality with 133 (44.93%) of males and 163 (55.07%) females. There were total 6 schools. In average, 49 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Chame is Gurung, which is spoken by 441 people. The Chame has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, Sherpa, Newar, Tamang, Magar, Kham, Thakali, Bhojpuri, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Chame Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Gurung caste with total population of 400. There were as little as Sarki caste with population of as little as 12 in total. People of several other castes who live in Chame are Bhote, Ghale, Magar, Newar, Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Chhetri, Tamang, Damai/Dholi, Thakali, Sarki, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Out of total 279 households in Chame Rural Municipality, there were 245 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 2 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 31houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 176 houses were mud bonded, 13 houses were cement bonded, 90 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 2 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 146 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 28 houses had roof of tile, 1 houses had RCC roofs, 80 houses had roof of woods while 21 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 143 establishments in Chame Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 450 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 247 and female engagement of 203 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.15 people engaged with average males are 1.73 and females are 1.42. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.22, which means as many as 1.22 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 54.89 percent while the females are 45.11 percent.
