In 2017 election of Bhume Rural Municipality (Rukum_E district), candidate Ramsur Budha Magar of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 3,482 (61.03%) votes out of total votes of 5,705 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Gunj Singh Budha of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 1,774 (19.31%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 449 (3.94) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Mankumari Budha (bista) of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 3,494 (61.86%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Kamala Khadka of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 1,646 (18.00%) of votes and came in second position. Other 1 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 508 (4.50) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 111 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 68 (61.26%) males and 43 (38.74%) females. Moreover, there were total 23 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 41 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 18 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
