Banepa is a Municipality, which is located in Kavrepalanchok district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Banepa has total 14 wards, which are scattered across 55 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Banepa Municipality had total population of 55,628.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Banepa Municipality had total 55,628 population with 27,305 males and 28,323 females. Out of total wards, ward number 8 had the largest population 7,001, while ward number 11 had least number of population with 7,001.
With respect to number of households, Banepa Municipality had total 12,106 households. The ward number 8 had most households with total 1,584, while ward number 11 had least number of households with total 488 number of households.

In terms of age, the largest population in Banepa Municipality were between 15 and 19 years of age with total 6,421. However, gender wise largest population age group differs from the total population, such as largest male population falls between 15 and 19 with total 3,144 while female population falls between 20 and 24 with total 3,332 population. There were only 42,187 people fully literate in Banepa Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 847 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 13,279 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Banepa Municipality, total 6,676 males and 6,603 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 3,905 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,754 male and 2,151 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.01 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.82.The CBS census also states that 278 males and 288 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 8,282 in Banepa Municipality with 3,934 (47.50%) of males and 4,348 (52.50%) females. There were total 71 schools. In average, 117 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Banepa is Nepali, which is spoken by 31,710 people. The Banepa has people who speak other languages, such as Newar, Tamang, Maithili, Bhojpuri, Magar, Hindi, Gurung, Rai, Limbu, Tharu, Danuwar, Rajsthani, Sunuwar, Urdu, Majhi, Bangla, Sherpa, etc.

There were as little as Pahari caste with population of as little as 11 in total. Out of total population of 55,628, there were total 624 (1.12%) disabled persons in Banepa Municipality with 349 (55.93%) males and 275 (44.07%) females. The physically disabled persons were 213, while mentally disabled people were 57 and intellectually disabled were 18.

Household Foundation
Out of total 12106 households in Banepa Municipality, there were 6,154 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 2,358 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 3,296 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 54houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 5,868 houses were mud bonded, 5,719 houses were cement bonded, 114 houses were wood planks bonded, 52 houses were bamboo bonded and 93 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 110 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 4,520 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,673 houses had roof of tile, 5,511 houses had RCC roofs, 23 houses had roof of woods while 3 houses were reported having roof of mud. With respect to the toilets, 802 out of 12,106 houses didn't report of having a private toilet for their households. Nevertheless, 9,452 houses were reported of having flush toilet while 1,708 houses reported having ordinary toilets.

out of 12,106 households in Banepa Municipality, 345 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 11,583 households reported of using at least one facility. According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 4,329 establishments in Banepa Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 21,356 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 12,669 and female engagement of 8,687 persons.In every business, there were an average of 4.93 people engaged with average males are 2.93 and females are 2.01. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.46, which means as many as 1.46 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 59.32 percent while the females are 40.68 percent.
