Bagchaur is a Municipality, which is located in Salyan district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Bagchaur has total 12 wards, which are scattered across 163 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Bagchaur Municipality had total population of 34,118.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Bagchaur Municipality had total 34,118 population with 16,526 males and 17,592 females. Out of total wards, ward number 7 had the largest population 4,199, while ward number 11 had least number of population with 4,199.
With respect to number of households, Bagchaur Municipality had total 5,906 households. The ward number 2 had most households with total 718, while ward number 11 had least number of households with total 297 number of households.

In terms of age, the largest population in Bagchaur Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 5,194. Gender wise, there were 2,564 males and 2,630 females of the same age group. There were only 20,271 people fully literate in Bagchaur Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 645 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 11,976 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Bagchaur Municipality, total 5,869 males and 6,107 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 3,565 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,575 male and 1,990 female were not attending teh school. Out of total 5906 households in Bagchaur Municipality, there were 5,805 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 35 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 15 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 29houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 5,634 houses were mud bonded, 213 houses were cement bonded, 29 houses were wood planks bonded, 4 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,484 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 682 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,592 houses had roof of tile, 29 houses had RCC roofs, 4 houses had roof of woods while 59 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

Same as, total 342 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 555, while 3,227 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.06.
With reference to source of fuel, 5,845 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 9 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 8 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (13), bio-gas (4), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 342 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. Facilities
out of 5,906 households in Bagchaur Municipality, 1,026 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 4,813 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,235 establishments in Bagchaur Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 3,713 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 2,148 and female engagement of 1,565 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.01 people engaged with average males are 1.74 and females are 1.27. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.37, which means as many as 1.37 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 57.85 percent while the females are 42.15 percent.
