In 2017 election of Badikedar Rural Municipality (Doti district), candidate Krishna Bahadur Chand of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,321 (45.19%) votes out of total votes of 5,136 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Bhakta Bahadur Saund of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,998 (26.79%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 817 (7.95) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Indra Kumari Bohara of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,225 (44.31%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Bhuvan Kumari Bam (malla) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 2,028 (27.98%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 769 (7.66) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 87 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 51 (58.62%) males and 36 (41.38%) females. Moreover, there were total 17 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 31 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 16 females and 15 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
