In 2017 election of Ajirkot Rural Municipality (Gorkha district), candidate Phanindra Prasad Dhital of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,033 (48.41%) votes out of total votes of 6,265 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Dipak Devkota of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 2,702 (29.06%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 530 (4.23) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Chandra Maya Gurung of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,030 (48.64%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Anita Bhujel of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 2,642 (28.53%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 557 (4.47) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 98 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 60 (61.22%) males and 38 (38.78%) females. Moreover, there were total 20 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 34 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 16 females and 17 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
