In 2017 election of Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality (Saptari district), candidate Parshuram Chaudhari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 3,395 (36.05%) votes out of total votes of 9,418 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Badri Narayan Chaudhary of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,453 (11.34%) of votes. The rest of 8 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 4,570 (24.26) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Mina Chaudhari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,948 (35.81%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Nisha Kumari Chaudhary of Nepal Loktantrik Form (NepLF) secured 1,562 (13.97%) of votes and came in second position. Other 7 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 3,723 (22.61) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 215 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 125 (58.14%) males and 90 (41.86%) females. Moreover, there were total 43 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 6 wards. Same as, total 77 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 40 females and 36 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
