Aathabis is a Municipality, which is located in Dailekh district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Aathabis has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 168 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Aathabis Municipality had total population of 29,227.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Aathabis Municipality had total 29,227 population with 14,484 males and 14,743 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 4,486, while ward number 9 had least number of population with 4,486.
With respect to number of households, Aathabis Municipality had total 5,263 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 833, while ward number 9 had least number of households with total 363 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.98, which indicates that Aathabis Municipality had 2 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 5.55, which means that in average 5.55 family members lived in each household.

In terms of age, the largest population in Aathabis Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 4,686. Gender wise, there were 2,386 males and 2,300 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was above 75 with total 228 population, which consistes of 117 males and 111 females. Top 5 most populated age groups were between 5 and 9 (4,686), below 4 (4,565), between 10 and 14 (4,041), between 15 and 19 (3,043), between 20 and 24 (2,412) with total population of 18,747. There were 6,681 women of child-bearing age-group of 15 to 49 years. Same as, the todlers or children of 4 years or below were 4,565. There were only 12,954 people fully literate in Aathabis Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 833 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 9,689 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Aathabis Municipality, total 5,021 males and 4,668 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 3,842 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,480 male and 2,362 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.08 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.63.The CBS census also states that 125 males and 167 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 12,535 in Aathabis Municipality with 6,173 (49.25%) of males and 6,362 (50.75%) females. There were total 61 schools. In average, 205 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Aathabis is Nepali, which is spoken by 28,577 people. The Aathabis has people who speak other languages, such as Magar, Kham, Maithili, Urdu, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Aathabis Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 9,583. There were as little as Majhi caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Aathabis are Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Thakuri, Damai/Dholi, Magar, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Sarki, Dalit Others, Muslim, Badi, Teli, Gurung, Tharu, Majhi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Similarly, there were 149 people who were blind and 119 people were deaf, while 7 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 70 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 30 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 5263 households in Aathabis Municipality, there were 5,184 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 5 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 40houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 5,142 houses were mud bonded, 18 houses were cement bonded, 63 houses were wood planks bonded, 3 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 1,417 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 199 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 3,087 houses had roof of tile, 35 houses had RCC roofs, 5 houses had roof of woods while 461 houses were reported having roof of mud. With reference to source of fuel, 5,204 households reported their source of fuel as firewood while 1 households had kerosene as their fuel source. The LP gas was used by 20 households as a source of fuel. Moreover, other sources of fuel were cow dung (2), bio-gas (9), fuel electricity (0), etc.
Same as, total 304 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 4, while 2,051 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.06.

out of 5,263 households in Aathabis Municipality, 2,242 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,841 households reported of using at least one facility. Households using at least one facility, such as radio, television, internet, etc. have been illustrated in the table below.Radio was used by the maximum households with total users of 2,151, while MobilePhone was the next mostly used facilities with total household users of 1,762.
Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 694 establishments in Aathabis Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,752 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,101 and female engagement of 651 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.52 people engaged with average males are 1.59 and females are 0.94. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.69, which means as many as 1.69 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 62.84 percent while the females are 37.16 percent.
