Sex, Dependency & Women-Child Ratio Chart of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, Sunsari District (2011 Census)

The pie-charts for male-female population, child and elderly dependency, and women-child ratios of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City, Sunsari District is based on 2011 population census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Nepal. As of 2011, Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City had total population of 137,705 with male 64,671 (46.96%) and female 73,034 (53.04%). Total independent population (male and female between 15 to 65 years of age) were 93,021 (67.55%) while dependent children (below 15 years of age) were 37,287 (27.08%) and elderls (65 years and above) were 7,397 (5.37%). As illustrated in the Chart, total dependent population includes both the children and elderly people who were 44,684 (32.45%). With respect to women and children ratio, total women between age of 15 to 49 years (statistically considered as women of child bearing age) were total 43,466 while children below 5 years of age were 9,230, which is equivalent to 212 children per 1,000 women. This women-child ratio is also considered as fertility ratio when specific fertility related data is not available.
