The pie-charts for male-female population, child and elderly dependency, and women-child ratios of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, Kailali District is based on 2011 population census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Nepal. As of 2011, Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City had total population of 147,741 with male 73,462 (49.72%) and female 74,279 (50.28%). Total independent population (male and female between 15 to 65 years of age) were 91,869 (62.18%) while dependent children (below 15 years of age) were 49,998 (33.84%) and elderls (65 years and above) were 5,874 (3.98%). As illustrated in the Chart, total dependent population includes both the children and elderly people who were 55,872 (37.82%). With respect to women and children ratio, total women between age of 15 to 49 years (statistically considered as women of child bearing age) were total 41,698 while children below 5 years of age were 12,748, which is equivalent to 306 children per 1,000 women. This women-child ratio is also considered as fertility ratio when specific fertility related data is not available.
