The pie-charts for male-female population, child and elderly dependency, and women-child ratios of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City, Dang District is based on 2011 population census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Nepal. As of 2011, Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City had total population of 156,164 with male 72,329 (46.32%) and female 83,835 (53.68%). Total independent population (male and female between 15 to 65 years of age) were 94,335 (60.41%) while dependent children (below 15 years of age) were 55,478 (35.53%) and elderls (65 years and above) were 6,351 (4.07%). As illustrated in the Chart, total dependent population includes both the children and elderly people who were 61,829 (39.59%). With respect to women and children ratio, total women between age of 15 to 49 years (statistically considered as women of child bearing age) were total 46,159 while children below 5 years of age were 14,724, which is equivalent to 319 children per 1,000 women. This women-child ratio is also considered as fertility ratio when specific fertility related data is not available.
