Gaumul is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Bajura district, Sudurpashchim Province of Nepal. Gaumul has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 315 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gaumul Rural Municipality had total population of 8,515.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Gaumul Rural Municipality had total 8,515 population with 4,166 males and 4,349 females. Out of total wards, ward number 2 had the largest population 1,645, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 1,645.
With respect to number of households, Gaumul Rural Municipality had total 1,560 households. The ward number 2 had most households with total 310, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 207 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.96, which indicates that Gaumul Rural Municipality had 4 percent lower males as compared to the females. Same as, the population to household ratio was 5.46, which means that in average 5.46 family members lived in each household.

In terms of age, the largest population in Gaumul Rural Municipality were between 5 and 9 years of age with total 1,363. Gender wise, there were 666 males and 697 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 70 and 74 with total 95 population, which consistes of 47 males and 48 females. Top 5 most populated age groups were between 5 and 9 (1,363), between 10 and 14 (1,250), below 4 (1,158), between 15 and 19 (787), between 25 and 29 (547) with total population of 5,105. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 4,058 people fully literate in Gaumul Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 283 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 2,984 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Gaumul Rural Municipality, total 1,526 males and 1,458 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 941 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 341 male and 600 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.05 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.57.The CBS census also states that 22 males and 15 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,944 in Gaumul Rural Municipality with 3,482 (50.14%) of males and 3,462 (49.86%) females. There were total 23 schools. In average, 302 students were studying in each school.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Gaumul Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Chhetri caste with total population of 6,779. There were as little as Others caste with population of as little as 18 in total. People of several other castes who live in Gaumul are Kami, Sarki, Lohar, Brahmin - Hill, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Out of total 1560 households in Gaumul Rural Municipality, there were 1,553 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 0houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 1,549 houses were mud bonded, 5 houses were cement bonded, 1 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.33.

Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 263 establishments in Gaumul Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 605 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 407 and female engagement of 198 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.30 people engaged with average males are 1.55 and females are 0.75. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.06, which means as many as 2.06 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 67.27 percent while the females are 32.73 percent.
