Kharpunath is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Humla district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Kharpunath has total 5 wards, which are scattered across 880 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Kharpunath Rural Municipality had total population of 6,011.

As per 2011 population census, Kharpunath Rural Municipality had total 6,011 population with 2,967 males and 3,044 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 1,575, while ward number 2 had least number of population with 1,575.
With respect to number of households, Kharpunath Rural Municipality had total 1,132 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 305, while ward number 2 had least number of households with total 162 number of households.

There were only 2,359 people fully literate in Kharpunath Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 180 people were able to read but not write. In those establishments, total 607 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 394 and female engagement of 213 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.07 people engaged with average males are 1.34 and females are 0.73. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.85, which means as many as 1.85 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 64.91 percent while the females are 35.09 percent.
