Mugum Karmarong is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Mugu district, Karnali Province of Nepal. Mugum Karmarong has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 2107 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality had total population of 5,396.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality had total 5,396 population with 2,598 males and 2,798 females. Out of total wards, ward number 9 had the largest population 956, while ward number 3 had least number of population with 956.
With respect to number of households, Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality had total 1,029 households. The ward number 9 had most households with total 180, while ward number 3 had least number of households with total 45 number of households.

Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 1,931 people fully literate in Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 92 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 1,215 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality, total 617 males and 598 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 988 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 409 male and 579 female were not attending teh school. Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Mugum Karmarong is Tamang, which is spoken by 3,639 people. The Mugum Karmarong has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, Sherpa, etc.

There were as little as Terai Others caste with population of as little as 11 in total. Out of total 1029 households in Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality, there were 960 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 0 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 0 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 0houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 950 houses were mud bonded, 1 houses were cement bonded, 2 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 3 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 14 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 7 houses had roof of tile, 0 houses had RCC roofs, 2 houses had roof of woods while 992 houses were reported having roof of mud. According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 125 establishments in Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 372 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 231 and female engagement of 141 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.98 people engaged with average males are 1.85 and females are 1.13. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.64, which means as many as 1.64 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 62.10 percent while the females are 37.90 percent.
