Lamahi is a Municipality, which is located in Dang district, Province No. 5 of Nepal. Lamahi has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 327 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Lamahi Municipality had total population of 47,655.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Lamahi Municipality had total 47,655 population with 22,898 males and 24,757 females. Out of total wards, ward number 5 had the largest population 7,173, while ward number 9 had least number of population with 7,173.
With respect to number of households, Lamahi Municipality had total 9,432 households. The ward number 5 had most households with total 1,644, while ward number 9 had least number of households with total 692 number of households.

Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 30,494 people fully literate in Lamahi Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 712 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 15,090 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Lamahi Municipality, total 7,444 males and 7,646 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 5,635 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 2,414 male and 3,221 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.97 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.75.The CBS census also states that 156 males and 197 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 6,649 in Lamahi Municipality with 3,195 (48.05%) of males and 3,454 (51.95%) females. There were total 53 schools. In average, 125 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Lamahi is Tharu, which is spoken by 28,104 people. The Lamahi has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, Hindi, Magar, Avadhi, Urdu, Newar, Maithili, Kham, Tamang, Gurung, Doteli, Bhojpuri, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Lamahi Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tharu caste with total population of 28,538. There were as little as Chamar/Harijan/Ram caste with population of as little as 11 in total. People of several other castes who live in Lamahi are Chhetri, Brahmin - Hill, Magar, Kumal, Kami, Damai/Dholi, Muslim, Sanyasi/Dashnami, Thakuri, Newar, Sarki, Kathbaniyan, Yadav, Dalit Others, Kusunda, Majhi, Gurung, Rai, Kalwar, Tamang, Haluwai, Terai Others, Bote, Badi, Dhobi, Marwadi, Gaine, Kayastha, Mallaha, Chamar/Harijan/Ram, Kurmi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Out of total population of 47,655, there were total 997 (2.09%) disabled persons in Lamahi Municipality with 540 (54.16%) males and 457 (45.84%) females. The physically disabled persons were 360, while mentally disabled people were 46 and intellectually disabled were 28.
Similarly, there were 222 people who were blind and 171 people were deaf, while 24 people were both blind and deaf. Moreover, 76 persons had reported of having speech problems. Total 70 people had multiple disabilities.

Household Foundation
Out of total 9432 households in Lamahi Municipality, there were 4,536 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,166 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 1,014 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 2,640houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,121 houses were mud bonded, 2,412 houses were cement bonded, 426 houses were wood planks bonded, 1,475 houses were bamboo bonded and 1,214 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 4,352 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 2,377 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 233 houses had roof of tile, 2,346 houses had RCC roofs, 36 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. out of 9,432 households in Lamahi Municipality, 628 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 8,687 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 1,343 establishments in Lamahi Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 5,133 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 3,084 and female engagement of 2,049 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.82 people engaged with average males are 2.30 and females are 1.53. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.51, which means as many as 1.51 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 60.08 percent while the females are 39.92 percent.
