Shahid Lakhan is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Gorkha district, Gandaki Province of Nepal. Shahid Lakhan has total 9 wards, which are scattered across 149 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality had total population of 27,555.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality had total 27,555 population with 12,065 males and 15,490 females. Out of total wards, ward number 6 had the largest population 3,990, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 3,990.
With respect to number of households, Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality had total 6,682 households. The ward number 6 had most households with total 966, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 492 number of households.

Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 17,555 people fully literate in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 469 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 8,365 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, total 3,980 males and 4,385 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 2,399 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 760 male and 1,639 female were not attending teh school. Out of total 6682 households in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, there were 6,071 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 170 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 123 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 253houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 6,093 houses were mud bonded, 334 houses were cement bonded, 139 houses were wood planks bonded, 31 houses were bamboo bonded and 2 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 726 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 4,329 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 1,326 houses had roof of tile, 230 houses had RCC roofs, 0 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. out of 6,682 households in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality, 757 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 5,756 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 858 establishments in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,560 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,323 and female engagement of 1,237 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.98 people engaged with average males are 1.54 and females are 1.44. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.07, which means as many as 1.07 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 51.68 percent while the females are 48.32 percent.
