Tarakeshwor is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Nuwakot district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Tarakeshwor has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 73 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality had total population of 15,719.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality had total 15,719 population with 7,034 males and 8,685 females. Out of total wards, ward number 1 had the largest population 3,091, while ward number 6 had least number of population with 3,091.
With respect to number of households, Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality had total 3,511 households. The ward number 1 had most households with total 711, while ward number 6 had least number of households with total 433 number of households.

There were only 8,115 people fully literate in Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 434 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 4,767 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality, total 2,168 males and 2,599 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,688 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 639 male and 1,049 female were not attending teh school. Out of total 3511 households in Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality, there were 3,452 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 9 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 9 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 4houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,431 houses were mud bonded, 35 houses were cement bonded, 3 houses were wood planks bonded, 0 houses were bamboo bonded and 0 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.77.

out of 3,511 households in Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality, 453 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,938 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 391 establishments in Tarakeshwor Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,116 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 624 and female engagement of 492 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.85 people engaged with average males are 1.60 and females are 1.26. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.27, which means as many as 1.27 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 55.91 percent while the females are 44.09 percent.
