Meghang is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Nuwakot district, Province No. 3 of Nepal. Meghang has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 98 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Meghang Rural Municipality had total population of 13,479.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Meghang Rural Municipality had total 13,479 population with 6,059 males and 7,420 females. Out of total wards, ward number 3 had the largest population 3,656, while ward number 1 had least number of population with 3,656.
With respect to number of households, Meghang Rural Municipality had total 3,388 households. The ward number 3 had most households with total 1,005, while ward number 1 had least number of households with total 118 number of households.
As illustrated in the chart, the ratio of male to female population was 0.82, which indicates that Meghang Rural Municipality had 18 percent lower males as compared to the females. In terms of age, the largest population in Meghang Rural Municipality were between 10 and 14 years of age with total 1,751. Gender wise, there were 830 males and 921 females of the same age group. The least populated age group was between 65 and 69 with total 382 population, which consistes of 195 males and 187 females. Literacy, Education Levels & Schooling
There were only 6,653 people fully literate in Meghang Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 374 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 3,773 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Meghang Rural Municipality, total 1,818 males and 1,955 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 1,547 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 572 male and 975 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 0.93 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.59.The CBS census also states that 44 males and 88 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 3,471 in Meghang Rural Municipality with 1,698 (48.92%) of males and 1,773 (51.08%) females. There were total 25 schools. In average, 139 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Meghang is Tamang, which is spoken by 11,366 people. The Meghang has people who speak other languages, such as Nepali, Newar, Gurung, Maithili, etc.

According to 2011 census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Meghang Rural Municipality was inhabitted by mostly the people of Tamang caste with total population of 11,286. There were as little as Others caste with population of as little as 37 in total. People of several other castes who live in Meghang are Kami, Brahmin - Hill, Newar, Magar, Ghale, Sonar, Chhetri, Gharti/Bhujel, Gurung, Damai/Dholi, etc. Only the population of castes with above 1,000 population are illustrated in the table.

Household Foundation
Out of total 3388 households in Meghang Rural Municipality, there were 3,266 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 74 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 6 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 4houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 3,198 houses were mud bonded, 102 houses were cement bonded, 40 houses were wood planks bonded, 5 houses were bamboo bonded and 1 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.
There were several types of house roofs reported. Total 49 houses were reported of having thatch roofs while 3,152 houses had galvanized roofs. Similarly, 30 houses had roof of tile, 65 houses had RCC roofs, 13 houses had roof of woods while 0 houses were reported having roof of mud. As per 2011 CBS census, some of the houses had other types of roofs while some didn't report about the roof structure.

Same as, total 3,033 households had reported of having electricity as the source of their household's lighting. The households still using kerosene as source of light were 294, while 7 households used solar energy as source of lights. Total 0 households also reported of using bio-gas as a source of light. The ratio of use of electricity as compared to other source of light was 0.90.

out of 3,388 households in Meghang Rural Municipality, 630 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,664 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 404 establishments in Meghang Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,404 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 749 and female engagement of 655 persons.In every business, there were an average of 3.48 people engaged with average males are 1.85 and females are 1.62. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.14, which means as many as 1.14 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 53.35 percent while the females are 46.65 percent.
