Nijgadh is a Municipality, which is located in Bara district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Nijgadh has total 13 wards, which are scattered across 289 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Nijgadh Municipality had total population of 35,335.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Nijgadh Municipality had total 35,335 population with 17,026 males and 18,309 females. Out of total wards, ward number 9 had the largest population 3,983, while ward number 2 had least number of population with 3,983.
With respect to number of households, Nijgadh Municipality had total 7,162 households. The ward number 9 had most households with total 820, while ward number 2 had least number of households with total 304 number of households.

There were only 20,511 people fully literate in Nijgadh Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 826 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 9,904 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Nijgadh Municipality, total 4,962 males and 4,942 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 4,251 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,875 male and 2,376 female were not attending teh school. The ratio of male and female who were going to school was 1.00 while the ratio for those who were not attending the school was 0.79.The CBS census also states that 120 males and 198 females did not state whether they were attending school or not.

According to Nepal Government records as of 2017, there were total 15,457 in Nijgadh Municipality with 7,292 (47.18%) of males and 8,165 (52.82%) females. There were total 30 schools. In average, 515 students were studying in each school.

Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Nijgadh is Nepali, which is spoken by 16,783 people. The Nijgadh has people who speak other languages, such as Tamang, Maithili, Newar, Magar, Bhojpuri, Rai, Urdu, Majhi, Chepang, Danuwar, Tharu, Gurung, Hindi, Chamling, etc.

There were as little as Chamar/Harijan/Ram caste with population of as little as 11 in total. Out of total 7162 households in Nijgadh Municipality, there were 685 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 1,030 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 136 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 5,207houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 881 houses were mud bonded, 1,331 houses were cement bonded, 4,495 houses were wood planks bonded, 362 houses were bamboo bonded and 3 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

out of 7,162 households in Nijgadh Municipality, 738 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 6,280 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 885 establishments in Nijgadh Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 2,061 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 1,270 and female engagement of 791 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.33 people engaged with average males are 1.44 and females are 0.89. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 1.61, which means as many as 1.61 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 61.62 percent while the females are 38.38 percent.
