Balan-Bihul is a Rural Municipality, which is located in Saptari district, Province No. 2 of Nepal. Balan-Bihul has total 6 wards, which are scattered across 33 square kilometers of geographical area. According to 2011 Census conducted by Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality had total population of 26,068.
Wardwise Population and Households
As per 2011 population census, Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality had total 21,819 population with 10,796 males and 11,023 females. Out of total wards, ward number 3 had the largest population 5,079, while ward number 5 had least number of population with 5,079.
With respect to number of households, Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality had total 3,976 households. The ward number 3 had most households with total 884, while ward number 5 had least number of households with total 470 number of households.

There were only 9,879 people fully literate in Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality as of 2011 who were able to both read and write, while 529 people were able to read but not write. In percentage while compared to genderwise population, there were inf percent of male were literate, while the percentage of female literacy was inf only.The literacy ratio between male and female population was nan.
Out of total 5,549 population between the age of 5 and 25 as of 2011 in Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality, total 2,962 males and 2,587 females were attending the school. Same as, out of total 3,323 population of the same age group who were not attending the school, total 1,382 male and 1,941 female were not attending teh school. Population by Language Spoken
Mostly spoken language in Balan-Bihul is Maithili, which is spoken by 21,013 people. The Balan-Bihul has people who speak other languages, such as Tharu, Bhujel, Nepali, Rai, Sunuwar, etc.

There were as little as Badhaee caste with population of as little as 18 in total. Household Foundation
Out of total 3976 households in Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality, there were 226 houses that were founded on mud bonded while 536 houses were cement bonded. Same as, 72 households were reported of being founded on RCC piller, 2,938houses were founded on wood.
With respect to wall of the houses, 217 houses were mud bonded, 571 houses were cement bonded, 31 houses were wood planks bonded, 3,040 houses were bamboo bonded and 11 houses had unbaked bricks on their outer walls.Rest of the houses were reported of having other types of outer wall, while some of them reported nothing of having the outer wall bonding.

out of 3,976 households in Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality, 926 houses reported of having no any facility in their household while 2,963 households reported of using at least one facility. Economic Census
According to 2018 Economic Census, there are total 431 establishments in Balan-Bihul Rural Municipality that are involved in various economic activities. In those establishments, total 1,019 persons are engaged for the economic activities, as a self-employed or an employee, with total male engagement of 707 and female engagement of 312 persons.In every business, there were an average of 2.36 people engaged with average males are 1.64 and females are 0.72. The ratio of male to female engagement in the establishments are 2.27, which means as many as 2.27 males are enagement in the economic activities per female.
Similarly, the engagement of males were 69.38 percent while the females are 30.62 percent.
