In 2017 election of Siddha Kumakh Rural Municipality (Salyan district), candidate Chitra Bhadur Chalaune of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,925 (40.09%) votes out of total votes of 4,802 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Nar Bir Chalaune of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) who secured 1,538 (22.86%) of votes. The rest of 2 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,339 (13.94) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Pushpa Kumari Bohara (budhathoki) of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,946 (40.12%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Bhumi Budhathoki of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 1,599 (23.53%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,305 (13.45) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 90 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 53 (58.89%) males and 37 (41.11%) females. Moreover, there were total 20 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 30 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 16 females and 16 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
