In 2017 election of Triveni Rural Municipality (Rukum_W district), candidate Jhakku Prasad Gharti Magar of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 3,958 (53.94%) votes out of total votes of 7,338 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Dev Bahadur Oli of Nepali Congress Party (NC) who secured 2,663 (23.57%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 717 (4.89) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Nirmala Bista (khadka) of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist) (CPN (M)) secured 3,980 (54.28%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Devi Pun of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,652 (23.44%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 700 (4.77) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 147 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 89 (60.54%) males and 58 (39.46%) females. Moreover, there were total 29 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 10 wards. Same as, total 55 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 29 females and 24 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
