In 2017 election of Kushe Rural Municipality (Jajarkot district), candidate Hari Chandra Basnet of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,508 (38.78%) votes out of total votes of 6,468 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Tapta Bahadur Hamal of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 2,044 (22.77%) of votes. The rest of 3 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 1,916 (14.81) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Ramchaya Kumari Shahi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 2,378 (38.26%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Ganga Kumari Rokaya of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,988 (23.13%) of votes and came in second position. Other 3 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,850 (14.88) of votes.

As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 164 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 98 (59.76%) males and 66 (40.24%) females. Moreover, there were total 35 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 9 wards. Same as, total 60 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 31 females and 28 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
