In 2017 election of Dullu Municipality (Dailekh district), candidate Ghanshyam Bhandari of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 6,349 (42.35%) votes out of total votes of 14,993 and was elected as a Mayor. The first runner-up candidate was Baru Nath Yogi of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 6,280 (29.43%) of votes. The rest of 6 candidates for the position of Mayor secured combined 2,364 (7.88) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Deputy Mayor, candidate Bishnu Thapa of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 6,478 (43.32%) and was elected as a Deputy Mayor, while Krishna Kumari Shahi of Nepali Congress Party (NC) secured 6,109 (28.50%) of votes and came in second position. Other 6 candidates who contested for Deputy Mayor secured combined 2,368 (7.92) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 285 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 176 (61.75%) males and 109 (38.25%) females. Moreover, there were total 64 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 13 wards. Same as, total 108 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 51 females and 46 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
