In 2017 election of Mallarani Rural Municipality (Pyuthan district), candidate Amardhwoj Rana Magar of Rastriya JanaMorcha (RasJanM) secured 2,328 (37.59%) votes out of total votes of 6,193 and was elected as a Chairman. The first runner-up candidate was Iman Singh Bharati of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) who secured 1,683 (19.75%) of votes. The rest of 4 candidates for the position of Chairman secured combined 2,182 (17.62) of votes.
Similarly, for the position of Vice-Chairman, candidate Sarita G.c of Rastriya JanaMorcha (RasJanM) secured 2,394 (38.90%) and was elected as a Vice-Chairman, while Sarita Pokharel of Nepal Communist Party (Unified Marxist-Leninist) (CPN (UML)) secured 1,796 (21.01%) of votes and came in second position. Other 2 candidates who contested for Vice-Chairman secured combined 1,964 (15.96) of votes.
As illustrated in the pie chart, there were total 117 candidates contested in various positions with gender ratio of 69 (58.97%) males and 48 (41.03%) females. Moreover, there were total 24 candidates contested for ward chairman positions in 5 wards. Same as, total 42 candidates had contested for ward member positions while 21 females and 20 females from depressed group (dalit) had contested for female member position in each ward.
